The Knabstrupper, so much more than the horse of Pippi Longstocking
The Knabstrupper is a Danish horse breed, that is considered a baroque horse. Coat patterns range from solid to a full spotted coat, with many variants in between. His coat is usually spotted, in some cases solid. The Knabstrupper is often confused with the American Appaloosa. However, that horse breed is of American origin and has no similarities with the Knabstrupper, except for its coat colour.
His straight head has a striking curve at the throat. His snout is slightly square. Manes and tail are usually short and thin. A famous Knabstrupper is “Witje”, the horse of Pippi Longstocking.
To preserve his special coat colours and protect the Knabstrupper, FryskWare has designed special blankets for this type of baroque horse. The special cut in combination with the patented FW-45 breast closure guarantees a perfect fitting horse blanket. In addition, this UV-resistant horse blanket protects the special coat colours and skin as well.
